Our Hiring Process

Stage 1

Apply

We invite you to fill out a volunteer application, which starts the process toward serving with TLI as a volunteer teacher. Once you've applied, you will not need to fill out a new application to serve on each subsequent teaching trip.
Stage 2

Interview

The next step is meeting with a couple of TLI staff to talk through your application, teaching experience, and cross-cultural experience. This provides us a chance to get to know you better and for you to get to know TLI — so come with any questions you have for us as well.
Stage 3

References

Because we are all about strengthening the local church, we aim to send teachers with godly character and good reputation. We ask for two references on your application, with as least one of them being a pastor/elder at your local church.
Stage 4

Talk with a trip leader

A trip leader will talk with you to help determine which trip you should go on. We may have a few conversations as we all consider which training would be a good fit.
Stage 5

Join a training

A trip leader will invite you to join a training and follow up with next steps!
